4 ways not to give in to adversity and multiply our forces in Christ

As we walk hand in hand with God, we know that we must experience joy and anguish. It is essential, in times of storms, to strengthen our commitment to Christ so as not to lower our arms and reach the goals that the Lord has entrusted to us.

" Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." Matthew 4:4

It may happen that we have to stay on our feet in the face of a series of unfavorable events that can generate a burden in our hearts that puts us in a position to choose to lower our arms or not. When, as a product of repeated adversities, we lose control of our actions and plunge into despair; we are moving away, perhaps without noticing it, from the purpose that God the Father has designated for our lives. Therefore, it is essential to strengthen our Commitment to the Lord and multiply our forces in Him, to surpass ourselves in His Glory and achieve the goals that His Perfect Word has entrusted us.

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” (Isaiah 40:29)

We live in a complex world that demands more of us every day. If we add to this the problems of various kinds that may arise, it is logical that we feel that our forces are extinguished and that we can no longer face what is presented to us.

The transit of a disease, the accompaniment of an elderly adult being us, also, adults with a few years over, the daily fight for the sustenance of our families; are some of the reasons that can overwhelm us, managing to disconnect from the path that God has chosen for us. Sometimes we will have to resist more than one storm at a time. These types of instances are a great emotional drain that we can overcome by reinforcing our Commitment to the Lord, trusting with heart the promises of a better future.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

It is very common to feel, when we go through phases of demotivation, weakness, and tiredness, that everything becomes a very heavy burden and difficult to bear, including our commitments as children of God. We must ask Christ to give us lucidity and balance to discern what is good for us and what is not. Once we have been able to visualize it, even though we are physically and mentally exhausted, let us draw closer to Heavenly Father than ever. His Presence and Word Strengthens us to resist the onslaught of life. He knows the instances we are going through. When we rest in Him and recover our Peace, we can verify that God is the dynamic force that will help us bear our burdens and reach our goals.

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

We must realize that ours is not a Spirit of fear, but a Spirit of Power.

How many times have we had negative thoughts about ourselves and our circumstances? How many times have we abandoned our longings, believing them impossible and unattainable? How many times do we give up, letting frustration and resentment build up in us? That Spirit of Power with which the Lord has blessed us, is a Spirit of Love, self-control, and a healthy mind. Let us be determined to go through fearless or discouraging events that are difficult in our lives. When we have the Lord in our hearts we can do everything. His Perfect Guidance is the confirmation that sooner or later the road will be cleared of all haze.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30)

Let us maintain a fluid dialogue with the Lord, whatever our reality may be.

God is known through the encounter and that wonderful relationship is the engine that keeps us active and vital. Let's not give up. Christ lives in us and we in Him.

Let's honor the Glory of the Eternal by keeping us Wise and focused in the face of adversity. Our burdens will be lightened and the Light of Your Guide will project us into the future that we long for .
