Open Your Heart

The decision to speak to the little ones always raises fears and insecurities. Discover some tips in the following article.

“Engrave in your heart these words that I send you today. Inculcate them to your children continually. Tell them about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7

All the little ones look for a role model, and who better than their father or mother. Start by making sure that your little one is witness to all those things that characterize the children of God and soon you will arouse their curiosity. Many of the behaviors that arise from repetition are not question by them, but on the other hand it is those behaviors that bring security to our little ones .

“Can a mother forget her chest child, and stop loving the child she has given birth? Even if she forgot it, I won't forget you! Engraven I carry you in the palms of my hands; I always keep your walls in mind. ” Isaiah 49:15-16

The little ones are also great imitators of what they see. We all know that we can tell them a thousand and one things, but they will only end up imitating what they see, and not what they hear. Maintaining a routine of reading the Bible and praying with the family are tips that may be useful. Sharing family time makes communication between members much more fluid, which opens an interesting door when talking about God as a family, including children .

“Certainly, no discipline, at the time of receiving it, seems pleasant, but rather painful; however, it later produces a harvest of justice and peace for those who have been trained by it.” Hebrews 12:11

Make the story interesting. Surely you will be thinking: “Isn't the Bible interesting enough?” Of course, we should only emphasize the most fantastic stories, which are the ones that can most easily arouse your curiosity. Talking to them about Christ as a superhero can also be an interesting task. The challenge in this case is to try to instill in them the concept that God's secret weapon is love .

“Dear brothers, we are now children of God, but it is not yet manifested what we will be. We know, however, that when Christ comes we will be like Him, because we will see Him as He is. Everyone who has this hope in Christ purifies himself, just as He is pure.” John 3:2-3

Teach him what God thinks of the little ones, that way they will learn that God takes them into account like any adult, and that sometimes his word is heard more than that of the adults. When the little ones feel included in the important things, we are not only inviting them to participate in something they feel part of, but they also realize how important it is to be close to God.
