Accepting and Managing Our Expectation

In order to heal and evolve spiritually, we must accept what is presented to us as a blessing and a miracle from the Lord. Learn to be thankful and to walk a path of enlightenment through the following verses.

"Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." Hebrews 4:16

At times we encounter a variety of emotions and moods that sometimes lead us to hide our darker feelings, such as sadness or grief. Modern society has instilled in us the idea that we must show a constant positive attitude and happiness to the world.

However, this pressure to maintain an unwavering appearance can be detrimental to our emotional and spiritual well-being.

In today's world, positivity is rewarded with smiles and praise. Being upbeat and happy is considered a social asset, and those who maintain a positive outlook on life are often praised. But what happens when we are not emotionally well? Why do we feel the need to hide our moments of sadness or vulnerability?

"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned." Isaiah 9:2

The answer to these questions lies in the social pressure to maintain a positive image. From our physical appearance to the way we behave, the world tends to judge us by how we appear. This often leads us to hide our true feelings and mask our authentic emotions.

God created us as whole human beings, with a wide range of emotions and experiences. We are not machines designed for perpetual happiness, but complex beings who sometimes experience moments of sadness, grief or confusion.

It is critical to remember that these moments of vulnerability are transitory and can be opportunities for spiritual and emotional growth. Instead of punishing or tormenting ourselves for feeling bad, we should accept our emotions as they are and allow ourselves to move through these difficult moments.

"From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth— he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do."  Psalm 33:13-15

Faith plays a crucial role in managing our expectations and emotions. When we face situations that generate sadness or distress, we can embrace our faith and trust God to guide and comfort us. Prayer and connection with the Holy Spirit can be sources of healing and inner strength in times of difficulty.

Trust in God and His divine plan is a powerful shield against negative emotions. By trusting in God, we can not only repel these feelings, but also find healing for our inner being. This trust predisposes us to overcome our fears and melancholy.

When we trust in God, we can face challenges from a different perspective. The shadows of fear and uncertainty dissipate as God's light illuminates our thoughts and fills us with hope.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

It is critical to remember that God is watching us from the heavens and understands our every problem. No matter how overwhelming our difficulties may seem; God sees them clearly and has a plan for each of them. His love and understanding know no bounds, and He is always ready to guide us on our way.

Accepting and managing our expectations and emotions is a path to healing and spiritual evolution. Instead of hiding our feelings, we must embrace our humanity and allow ourselves to feel and process our emotions in a healthy way.

Faith in God and trust in His divine plan are powerful tools to overcome difficult times. By maintaining a close connection with God and allowing His light to illuminate our path, we can find comfort and hope in the midst of adversity.

We should not fear our emotions or try to hide them from the world. Instead, let God be our guide and refuge in times of need, trusting that His love and care will carry us through whatever challenges we face.
