Accepting the Consequences of the Path

Decisions and our personal desires often take us to places we never knew. Learn with the following article how to continue your path of learning and healing with the Lord.

"And observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go and that the Lord may keep his promise to me: ‘If your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel." 1 Kings 2:3-4

In life, many of us long to achieve career goals, raise a family, have children and make sure we provide them with all the support they need to follow in our footsteps. These ideals are laudable, but it is vital to recognize that there is a deeper, more holistic attitude that can enrich our existence: living aligned with and nurtured by the Holy Spirit. If we desire a fruitful life in the Faith, we must prioritize our relationship with Jesus.

The transformation we experience through our encounter with the Lord will leave a clear and distinct mark on our offspring. Future generations will be blessed with the legacy of a faith rooted in their hearts, which will endure until the day they are received at the gates of Heaven.

It is not a matter of following the exact steps of Jesus to the letter, but of basing our actions on the same principle of Faith that He embodied, in order to connect us with our Heavenly Father.

"It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end." John 13:1

In this world full of temptations and sufferings, we must understand our place and our purpose. From a young age, we tend to repeat what we hear and what our parents, elders or teachers do. How beautiful it would be if we could repeat what our Heavenly Father did and said.

Imagine how simple it would be if we had him by our side every day, wouldn't it? But the most extraordinary thing is that we can hear Him and see Him at work through the Word and works of Jesus Christ. "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak to you, I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me, he does the works."

"Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." Hebrews13:20-21

The great challenge as brothers and sisters in the Faith is to learn to embark on our paths by relying on Faith. Both God the Father and Jesus Christ carried out their destinies in total communion. Impregnated with hope and guided by the Holy Spirit, they had a unique security and goodness. Living and spreading the divine Word, Jesus Christ fulfilled his mission: entrusted by God the Father, he came to live again among us.

Responding to the Lord's call and following his path has never been an easy task. However, throughout our lives, we have reaped testimonies of the marvelous blessings that have been bestowed upon us on this path. We have found that with God nothing is impossible.

The secret lies in our communication with Him through prayer, but in order to reach that point, we must first accept the path that lies before us, for that is the way to accept His call.

"Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?" Matthew 16:24-26

In accepting the Lord's call, we also accept the nature of the journey. At times, it will be uphill, but every step of the way, we will count on the infinite source of love that will come to restore calm in times of anguish, fatigue, anger or disappointment.

We can always trust God to provide us with the strength to bear the heaviest of burdens. We can trust Him, because He will always surprise us by acting with His restoring hand in the most difficult and unexpected moments.

Faith and hope guide us on our journey toward wholeness and closeness to our Heavenly Father. As we are nourished by the Holy Spirit and follow the example of Jesus, we forge a path of love and light that will transcend through the generations, leaving a legacy of faith in the hearts of our descendants. Thus, each day, aligned with the divine will, we can move forward with confidence and hope, knowing that at every step, God is at our side. May his love guide us and sustain us always!
