Decisions are not perpetual. The opinions we may have about something or someone can change. We will learn in the following article how to deal with situations that put us to the test.

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’" Isaiah 46:10

We can observe that our modern societies are divided and sustained by superficial values, with no deep foundations or solid ties to the Faith. There are clear examples where family relationships are fragmented, couples cannot congregate or prosper and, individuals feel without direction and without hope. Have you ever wondered what would have happened if we all equally followed God's path?

How many times do we continue to question that decision not made? We remain tormented for not having changed that habit that brings us so much pain or we never forgave that friend who was so close to us. Many ties of the past act as a ballast to move forward with firmness and clarity to the challenges that we face today. 

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

We must know that within every decision we have to make there is a learning process. Many times we are paralyzed when we have to take a new direction, whether it is a new job, a house move, or sharing our life with someone. Let us always think of the sacrifice that Jesus made when he was on the Cross. He made that decision very consciously, knowing what would happen. But he also knew that his sacrifice would set us free in a complete way. He gave himself body and soul to the convictions of the Faith, supported by the Holy Spirit.

“For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.” 2 Corinthians 5:1

Everything acquired in each experience is incorporated into our being in the form of human capital. The good and bad moments we have experienced not only serve as memories but also allow us to face new challenges from a different perspective. God wants this to be so. That we do not hide behind insecurities or inaction. He earnestly desires that we move forward and that we can achieve all that we set out to do in the way of the Holy Spirit. We must not collapse in the face of a stumble, always remembering that if we fall, the Heavenly Father will be there to pick us up and set us on His path of light. Every step we take takes us closer to Heaven, where He is eagerly awaiting us to share eternal life with all His children. 

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25

Understanding in turn that we will be transforming our being with each decision made and with each advance, growing and aging. Deepening bonds and relegating obsolete thoughts. May such progress not generate nostalgia. May it not depress us to be wiser and leave behind old habits and customs of other times. As Christians, we must be true transformers of reality and generators of change. We cannot remain secluded and content with our individual acts. God created us for that purpose. Made in his image and likeness, the order given by our Father must be based on deeds and actions. That is what the Bible and its passages explain to us. That is why we must educate our children with such wisdom. We must integrate religious culture into their lives from an early age.
