Celebrating Our Everyday Victories

Day by day we will find moments in which we have to be thankful for everything we achieve in life. Thanks to the following article you will be able to connect with what really matters today and now.

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." Psalm 32:8

Luxury can be defined as the display or manifestation of wealth according to the dictionary. Although we often relate luxury to things that involve great expenditure of money, the truth is that the definition of luxury may be different for people who walk life with God.

Perhaps for one person luxury is wearing Hollywood-style sunglasses, while for another it is taking their children to school every morning. For one, luxury may be buying fresh berries to eat in the afternoon, and for another it may be taking a cab home from the market. The luxury for the Lord's daughters and sons are those moments when they enjoy the power to grow from the heart. When Heavenly Father's blessings allow us to add to our day, simple actions that make a difference for those who really need it most.

"Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you." Philippians 4:9

It's not about having the most expensive car, or the most exclusive designer clothes, or dining at the fanciest restaurants in town.

It is basically about recognizing the link with the Holy Spirit. First of all, you can identify your own luxuries. What do you allow yourself to do that for you is an in your day to feel better with the Lord? What little extra effort do you make that has a positive impact on your emotionality?

Many times we think that we invest little time in prayer or with the Heavenly Father, but we must keep in mind that by cultivating this inner part of us, we can find ways and alternative solutions to problematic scenarios or situations that arise in our lives. To be able to understand that we are facing opportunities for personal growth thanks to God, is something that should really make us feel very good.

"Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." Colossians 3:12

Each person has his or her own interests and his or her own assessment of the Faith in his or her life. Today's lesson is that your hobbies and interests do not have to be approved or looked at by anyone but you. You will simply find in the path of the Holy Spirit moments and people who will want to dissuade you or point out all the negative edges of your choices and plans.

It doesn't matter. It doesn't have to affect you. You go ahead with your life, nurture your hope, love for God and water your interests as well as your obligations, with the Glory of the Lord, as you do day by day, without looking at "what will people say". The reward will manifest itself in a moment and people will see the best version of you come to the surface.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23

Let's do a practical exercise. What brings you genuine joy? What brings you genuine sadness? Make a list with four columns. In the first column, write down the things that make you happy, no matter how small. They can be considered objects or moments shared with someone, or with yourself. In the second column, the things you would love to have or the activities you would like to do, but don't dare to do for fear of what people will say. In a third column, the things that cause you indifference. In a fourth column, the things that generate rejection. Remember that it can be anything.

Perhaps in that first column, you will not be able to fill in many spaces, but as the exercise progresses, you will notice that in all those columns, in reality, ideas, feelings, superficial needs are manifested. In reality, all those columns can be summarized in a simple "sorry", in a "thank you", in a "I want to help you". Everything passes through the hands of the Creator, in Him we trust and you will notice little by little that we are really close to the Lord, surrounding ourselves with His blessings and all His love. The only thing necessary to move forward in this life.
