Christmas and Love: A Unique Combination

A unique celebration and a special moment to get closer to our families. Find out How to do it in the next article.

"So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child." Luke 2:4-5

Love is one of the most powerful emotions we experience as human beings. It fills us with joy, energizes us and makes us feel alive. But often, we forget the importance of cultivating and nurturing our love bonds.

While it is true that love can blossom in the smallest of gestures, it is also true that it needs our constant attention and care to grow and strengthen. A good way to do this is to seek the company of people we trust and with whom we can build a network of emotional support.

If we look at Christmas, it is a time of year when love and family are at the center of our celebrations. It is a time to get together with our loved ones, share pleasant moments and remember how important love is in our lives.

"But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit'." Matthew 1:20

Christmas is a time when we remember the birth of Jesus, an event that symbolizes the unconditional love of the Heavenly Father for his son and for all of us. Jesus taught us the value of love and forgiveness, and his example of love and sacrifice is a source of inspiration for all of us.

Walking with someone we trust allows us to exercise patience, active listening and self-love.

We must try to understand the other person's point of view, putting ourselves in his or her place and seeking the empathy necessary to be able to communicate peacefully and respectfully.

If we manage to find someone with whom we agree in this sense, we must cultivate day by day mutual love, care and the incorporation of the values that nourish the path of the soul's enlightenment.

"All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel." Matthew 1:22-23

At Christmas, we also remember the story of Jesus' family. His mother, Mary, and father, Joseph, modeled love and commitment in their family. They cared for and protected Jesus, and gave him the love and support he needed to grow and develop.

Good teamwork will feel twice as rewarding, but we must remember that there are also rules of coexistence that we must follow to be able to support the other person at key moments in their self-improvement and individual growth.

To be able to offer support and sustenance in the fulfillment of a dream or a personal achievement is fundamental to weave the necessary confidence to be able to share a love that will multiply exponentially in the future.

"But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. Behold, I bring you good news that will be a cause of great joy to all the people." Luke 2:10

Just as Jesus' life on the cross gave us His eternal blessings, His sacrifice allowed us to understand the love He had for His family. We must remember this when we seek to find love in our own lives, for true love involves giving and receiving, and requires constant commitment and continuous effort.

Knowing how to receive love is also an important part. Many times we have inner armors in our hearts that protect us from possible wounds, but also prevent us from opening ourselves to true love.

While it is understandable that our past can affect our ability to love and be loved, we must remember that true love is a gift that we must accept with gratitude.
