The Birth of Jesus at Christmas: Revive your Spirit

A special and unique date that brings us together in communion with the family. An opportune moment to be able to forgive and understand that this event is a miracle.

The exact date of our Savior's birth was not known, and an adequate date could not be assigned until the Roman tradition that aligned with the celebration of "Sol Invicti against darkness" that was celebrated on December 25 was adopted.

Who, being in very nature God,did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage" Our Lord enters the earthly life, the birth of the Savior will mark a before and after in the development of the Holy Spirit.

We find a unique description of that moment in Matthew 1: 18-25, Luke 2: 1-20, Isaiah 7:14, 9: 6. They tell us that the child that was born that night was a miracle of God's creation. With a pre-existing mantle in the heavenly reign, the creator revealed himself to human beings so that they can worship him and learn from the Faith.

The Christmas has a biblical definition that transcends the current meaning of the festivals that are celebrated all over the world. Do you really know what it means?

The arrival of a new life anywhere means pure love. Give and receive it, without doubting that this new creature needs us and we will learn and incorporate this feeling into our hearts. In this particular case the appearance of God's love on Earth. "Rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness."  Philippians 2:7

This celebration should reunite us and allow us to receive the blessings of the Heavenly Father. Revindicating the traditions of the family, remembering that  "Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:13-14

The youngest who are eager for gifts and sweets are those who must incorporate the value of the party more. Taking advantage of the space of communion to thank that the fraternal union is found, depositing in prayer the value of the Holy Spirit. “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given” Isaiah 9:6

The consumerism that does not represent the spirit of Faith

Granting an indispensable value in the life of the community, the birth of Jesus became today something that does not agree with the simple and discreet ceremony that took place in Bethlehem that night of miracles. With the passing of time it evolved into a celebration that was tinged with offers and obligations of purchase that completely misrepresent the importance of Jesus' arrival on Earth.

Most families come together to celebrate eating and delivering ephemeral and meaningless gifts. It would be interesting to be able to think then in this new celebration the real reasons that unite us to the Lord and lead us towards his path of Salvation.
