Making the Right Decision

In some stages of life, we have to make decisions that will have repercussions for the rest of the way. In the following article, you will find some fundamentals to follow the path of light.

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.” Romans 15:5

Many times in life we are faced with certain crossroads, moments where we are faced with the difficult task of making a decision. There are many aspects that we must consider when making such a decision since whatever decision we make, the consequences will be the fruit of our choice.

Generally, we will have to choose between two options that, as an example, we will illustrate as two types of road:

The rocky road, which leads us to eternal life, but also few are those who find it, since being a child of God is not easy, it does not mean that we will no longer go through trials, we may face mockery since in truly following him, many call us crazy and fanatics because we are in the world but we do not belong to it.

“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

The plain road

It is about what the world offers us, an easy life, a sinful life, libertinage, and where the pleasures of this world are, such as money, fame, greed, or idolatry. But what they do not know is that this path that seems nice, pleasant and fun, leads directly to perdition, to a lifestyle that is far away from everything that God intends for us as his good children that we are.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7: 13-14

For the most part, many people live deceived believing that this is life, when they know very well that in reality, God is life. But even worse, and what is a bigger problem, is that people who are knowledgeable of the word fall into the nets of bad living, and live a life without any commitment to what God wants for us, they say they are believers but their heart is far from that, they say they love God and follow Him, but in their actions, they reflect their choice for the plain path.

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:20

Let us walk in obedience and uprightness, to be upright does not mean to be perfect, it means to recognize that we only depend on God and that only He can help us to free ourselves from sin, but let us remember that everything is in that decision that we make: that decision will make the difference with respect to the life we want for our future. Nor should we forget that the plain road will always seem charming, but it leads us to perdition, so decide for the best way, because living with Christ is a thousand times better than the things of the world that are transitory, instead He fills us with joy and fullness and if we really make the effort to study His word in-depth, remember that this is the legacy that He left us before He departed and until His second coming is fulfilled.

Therefore, it is necessary that you ask yourself the question: Which path do I choose?
