Recognizing we need help: ways to ask for it easily

We all know the importance of receiving help when we need it. We should consider whether we know how to recognize it when we need it.

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” Matthew 6:26

From whom you least expect it. Many times we disregard advice from people for no particular reason, perhaps only because we would not initially expect advice from them. It is then when we should find ourselves free of prejudices, and thus let ourselves be carried away by the advice itself, and not by the person who gives it to us, since it is very likely that she is only a spokesperson for the message, and most likely Christ speaks through her.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

In the way you least expect it. We well know that God's help can come to us in various ways, and the trick is precisely to find ourselves open in spirit and heart so that it is our faith that finally identifies that help. Let us remember that it will not only come as a paternal whisper in our heart, but it can also come as a crude example in our life.

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” 1 John 4:16

What is best for you is not always what you want. Why does wise counsel from the Lord have to manifest itself the way we want it to? We must remember just how Christ works in mysterious ways and that it is our duty to translate that message, to understand it in order to unravel what our Holy Father wants to tell us. Let us remember that many times we will have to go through uncomfortable moments to finally achieve the comfort we desire.

“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1

Teach you to overcome it, instead of overcoming it for you. The Lord's lessons are always intended to teach us rather than to solve the problem for us. Many times we make the mistake of thinking that God will solve all our issues for us, just because He is omnipotent and all-powerful. This is a common misconception among those who do not know Christ, but true children know that shortcuts are the problems of the future.

“Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.” 1 John 3:21-22

Love is in everything. Remember that the driving force behind all of Christ's work is none other than love. Therefore, it is important not to forget that we can easily recognize divine help based on the fact that everything is permeated by love, the indisputable seal of the Holy Presence of our Most Holy Heavenly Father.
