Reflections on how not to lose our determination.

In these times, the worries that are becoming more and more predominant in our thoughts can make us forget the path we have chosen to walk with the Lord.

Trust is built every day with Love. Get to know these verses that will help you find answers right away.

“I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.” Psalms 130:5

If to a hyper-consumerist society (with its false promises of well-being) and overwhelmed by over-information, we add the prevailing state of quarantine (with the economic and social problems it entails); we will have, by the way, a great number of brothers with real possibilities of abandoning the Grace of God.

This is a loss of confidence in oneself and, therefore, in our Heavenly Father. When we go through such instances, the first thing we have to do is to react quickly and approach God in a simple, authentic and sincere way. Let us do it consciously, with a positive attitude and, through the power of prayer, let us seek His Healing Word, the one that will bring us back to the path of Light that He has prepared for us with His Infinite Love.

“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.” Psalms 37:3

Another key attitude is not to let inaction take hold of us. Being inactive leads us to depressive states, lack of communication with others, we take the risk of evading ourselves through excesses.

Let us remember that if we do not make any effort, it is impossible to change the adverse circumstances we may be going through. Being absent leads us to states of confusion that can result in acts of arrogance and pride.

Our Heavenly Father created us to work so that, from the effort that comes out of the purest and most genuine Love, we reach our goals, thus fulfilling the purpose to which He has called us.

But for this to happen we must trust wholeheartedly in His Eternal Grace and Perfect Word.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Another important aspect to keep in mind is that we must develop a Spirit of Gratitude. When we approach the Lord we realize that He was always by our side, that He never stopped listening to us, that in spite of our doubts, resentments and anger He never stopped sheltering us.

God blessed us with life. That life is full of good and bad moments. The Highest uses our trials to strengthen our Faith and Commitment in Him.

When God calls us, and we take action based on His Lessons, we begin to see things more clearly.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Let us celebrate that we are walking with our Heavenly Father, renewing and giving new meaning to our desires and goals. Hope does not refer to something illusory and unattainable. The Word of God teaches us to see it in another way and from another perspective. From there we can say that Hope is equal to sure expectation in the Grace of the Lord.

Our Hope evaporates when we lose contact with God. On the contrary, our expectations grow when the end of the day arrives and we have the certainty that He has a plan and a purpose for us to carry out.
