Releasing yourself from the Past

Some moments of the past can come back to our minds. Don't let those feelings dominate you today. Learn in the following article how to connect with your present.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23

Do you feel that some situations from your past are coming back? Are they looming, coming back, appearing out of nowhere? You need to check if there is a chance that those situations are taking control of your emotions, thoughts and sensations.

In your current present, many of those situations from the past that tend to reappear or creep up on you at times are not part of you anymore. What happens is that those past issues or scenarios no longer represent you. Now there is a different reality, built thanks to the teachings of our Heavenly Father.

Maybe it is a bit of nostalgia, that beautiful memories appear, but not much more than that. Maybe that particular theme that emerges in your mind, now means something different, it is being modified or reversed and then it challenges you from another place and moment of your current reality.

"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12

You must understand that there are relationships that will last a lifetime. They will last all the time, they will teach you daily. You will cultivate this bond with the Holy Spirit, with your decisions and prayers that you will take care of as the most beautiful plant in your garden. This relationship with the Lord can be a great axis in your life. Cultivate it, take care of it, nurture it, dedicate time to prayer and respect for Jesus.

Reconnect with your inner self, praying and asking for the intervention of Faith during your life.

The love of the Heavenly Father does you good, bringing a smile to your face. Knowing that Father and Son listen to you and notice your emotions.

"Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." Colossians 3:12

In the relationship with God things are not so linear. You will find that at some times you will feel that you did things in the past that were not aligned with the Faith. Other times you will feel that you walked away from the way of the Holy Spirit. Why did you walk away in the first place? What happened? What caused you to distance yourself?

Time heals wounds but surely at the time you made the decision to open up. But it doesn't matter, because there is always time and the Lord in His Mercy will be waiting and listening to help you.

What you can do is to start a new journey with Jesus. Listening and remembering all that He did on the Cross, giving us that example so that we learn that love is eternal.

"Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction." 2 Timothy 4:2

If we want this to be a success story with the Holy Spirit, we can let go of those feelings from the past that torment us and keep us from moving forward.

In real life, in the present, success lies in understanding and actualizing our emotions and thoughts. Leaving the door of the heart open and keeping our eyes focused on those present situations that give us the opportunity to grow today and now.

We will have situations with difficulties, obstacles, pauses, setbacks. All this is normal. Some of these situations will remind us of the past, but we have enough tools to realize that sometimes life is a child's game: in which you advance a few boxes but then go back a few more.

Don't worry, the important thing, however, is to keep trying, not to fall completely off the path of light. Trusting in the Glory of the Heavenly Father, for no matter what the difficulty, one will have the confidence in the Holy Spirit to get through.
