Smiling at Life

Embracing Unexpected Blessings. Be amazed every day by the path of the Holy Spirit..

"Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun." Psalm 37:5-6

On our journey through this world, we constantly face crossroads that challenge our faith. Life offers us moments of divine grace that appear in surprising and unexpected ways. Some receive these blessings with a grateful heart, while others are paralyzed by the unforeseen with fear and anxiety. Which group do you find yourself in?

The Lord's path is full of light and purpose for each of us, but every person has a unique story and particular characteristics that determine how they navigate the learning moments provided by the Holy Spirit. Observing our own reactions to the unexpected reveals deep truths about our inner selves and how past experiences have shaped our current perspective.

It is time to prepare our hearts so that everything new that comes from the Glory of the Heavenly Father is received with peace and gratitude, without causing internal conflicts or anxiety that disrupts our communion with Him.

"How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you." Psalm 139:17-18

During our spiritual growth process under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, it is natural to create plans and expectations in our imagination about how we want circumstances in our lives to unfold. This human planning, while understandable, can become an obstacle when we cling too tightly to it.

Even when we are certain of experiencing a moment of spiritual evolution with the Heavenly Father, we must humbly remember that reality will not always align with our dreams and expectations. Wisdom lies in keeping our desires in harmony with divine will.

These self-imposed disappointments can lead to discouragement in our walk with the Lord. In this opportune time to experience the happiness that comes from balancing our love for God with the acceptance of His will, we must cultivate a heart that does not long for the impossible but receives each blessing with gratitude and humility, whether expected or unexpected.

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17

There is no such thing as good or bad luck in the life of a believer. What we have is the loving providence of a Father who arranges all things for our good. You have all the necessary conditions to draw closer to the Heavenly Father and discover His perfect will for your life.

It is in the intimacy of prayer, in the meditation of the Holy Scriptures, in the sincere opening of our hearts, and in the exercise of forgiveness towards others that we find the peace we need for our daily lives. This connection with the divine provides us with the clarity needed to correctly interpret the events of our lives.

We need to develop spiritual flexibility and readiness to transform our discontent and anger at unexpected situations into opportunities for growth and testimony. Although we may receive advice on what is appropriate, only you can feel the Holy Spirit approaching your heart with His specific guidance for your situation.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

Divine interventions in our lives can manifest in two main ways: as unexpected blessings that improve our situation, or as unforeseen challenges that deeply concern us while we await their resolution.

It is not easy to face illness, losses, or setbacks in our projects. Nor is it easy to recognize that, at times, these difficulties may be the result of our own negligence or wrong decisions. Therefore, in addition to discerning when it is the right time to receive heavenly illumination, we must be attentive to our current spiritual condition.

It is essential to analyze whether our behaviors align with what allows us to fully experience the love of the Heavenly Father. Let us dedicate time to reconnect with God, turning to prayer and the Holy Scriptures when we need guidance and comfort. Let us avoid the spiritual passivity that makes us feel like victims of circumstances beyond our control.

Instead, let us actively participate in our relationship with God through intentional prayer, channeling our desires according to His will, and finding reasons to smile at every opportunity we have to evolve and grow as true sons and daughters of the Most High.
