"I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love." Ephesians 3:16-17
It is truly curious how the human mind works in terms of behavior. At times anger and frustration can be transformed little by little into self-determination and strength to achieve a goal.
The result will always depend on our intentions, our perseverance and the faith we have at the moment of advancing along the path of light.
"For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love." 2-Peter 1:5-7
Failure can have different effects on our lives. We can despair and let our guard down, or we can remain determined until the storm passes and calm returns.
And this is an important part of walking with God in faith: making sure we don't allow failure to defeat us. Just because a door has closed, does not mean that it will remain that way forever and that it will not open in the future.
That is why I think it is important to talk about how a mere inconvenience - sometimes small, sometimes big, depending on how you look at it - can cause us to abandon any undertaking or, on the contrary, to strive to achieve our goal resolutely.
And all this thought leads me, once again, to the path of the Lord and to reflect on the importance of our Faith in life: Faith is that which does not let us fall, it is the north of our compass that shows us the way when we are lost, that is why it is important that we cultivate it and strengthen it so that whenever we need it we can lean on it.
"He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
It is important to understand that giving up our objectives at the first disappointment speaks of our lack of commitment to what we believed in: a failure that is reflected in how we build and fortify our faith in Christ.
The determination to achieve our objective is related to the fact of putting our faith to the test and not to a feeling of grandeur that means going over the heads of others and undertaking any action just to satisfy our objectives.
It is to make and commit ourselves to the changes to which the Lord calls us, serving both Him and our brothers.
In this way, we can follow the destiny that God has in store for us, but not automatically, but gradually through our sacrifice. We only need to remember that together with God, we can do all things.
