The Importance of Sharing

The basis of solidarity lies in being able to share and be there for those in need. Explore the following article and understand the importance of this act of good faith.

"No one should seek their own good, but the good of others." 1 Corinthians 10:24

There are times when we feel overwhelmed by reality. The preventive quarantine that we must face to prevent COVID-19, puts us face to face with new scenarios that we would never have imagined. These concerns generate fear, uncertainty, anguish, and the feeling that we must hold on to our things, without looking at what is going on around us.

The Lord teaches us to put our hearts into every act of our lives that leads us to share what we have with our brothers and sisters.

“not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” Philippians 2:4

The delicate situation we are going through awakens within us a series of negative sensations that, without us realizing it, take us away from the Glory of the Lord. This reaction does not happen consciously, but gradually as a result of the desperation that can generate various extreme situations that we must go through.

Our survival instinct causes our vision to be reduced and this is how we reach an instance in which we only see our own problems, making the problems of others invisible. The product of this mismatch is loneliness and pettiness.

It is, therefore, necessary to take the time to reflect that as children of the People of God, we have been formed in generosity and detachment to give the best of ourselves, thus counteracting the effects of selfishness.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

When we lose sight of the suffering of others and give value only to our own, our perception of reality is impaired by the appearance of behaviors such as irritability, mistreatment, and depression.

Offenses and senseless anger arise those affect relationships with loved ones and deteriorate our empathy with others. This is a product of the loss of Solidarity and Generosity with which The Lord blessed us from His Perfect Love.

That is why it is very important to keep calm and understand that being Generous and Solidary, are virtues that imply on our part a solid and persevering determination to gather for the common good, to give ourselves to others in an uplifting and firm way.

These virtues should be taken as a clear message from The Lord, urging us to procure the Good of all and of each one.

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

It is necessary to eradicate the harmful feelings that transform us into unjust beings, far from the Grace of the Lord.

We will be able to experience liberation from the storms that beset us when we manage to rejoice wholeheartedly in the achievement of a brother since we will not only be celebrating the other's joy, but also our own.

Our every action has a positive or negative impact on others. From the understanding and conviction, we must choose to participate, with the guidance of our Heavenly Father, in the common good and always seek the Word of Christ to sustain our faith.

Our great responsibility is to bring Peace and Harmony to our brothers, even if we are not going through a good personal moment. That selfless and Authentic Love that the Highest gives us every day is the Light that will take us out of the darkness.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12

What is the importance of Solidarity and Generosity?

Everything that stems from these two virtues keeps us on the path of Salvation that The Lord has laid out for each of us. We should understand that there is more joy in giving than receiving and that what we have sown will fulfill us personally.

We should understand that the value of people is not measured by what they give but by the Determination and Joy with which they undertake the wonderful purpose that God has entrusted to them: to give oneself.
