Trust is a fundamental pillar of faith. In the life of Jesus, we see many examples of how he shared his time and love with others, offering them support and comfort in difficult times. These shared moments, even if brief, show us who Jesus is and why he came to Earth to help us.
Those people who make you feel that you can always trust them are like friends who, although we do not see them often or distance ourselves for a while, make us feel better when we talk to them. Even if the story is sad or the situation is not favorable, sharing our feelings with someone we trust can alleviate our sadness and multiply our joy.
"so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky." Philippians 2:15
It is important to seek those close people in whom we can trust and build relationships based on confidentiality and complicity. And the same is true of our connection with God. We must let in hope and be willing to meet with the Father in Heaven. If we maintain our faith, this will happen. We just must not lose confidence that we will not be without his blessings.
In addition, it is a good time to listen to others and be present when they need us, whether a friend, a relative or any other close person. Isolation saddens and sickens us, both physically and emotionally. By opening our hearts, we can show the Lord everything we treasure in him.
"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God." John 1:12-13
Making the commitment to follow Heavenly Father is no easy task, but it is fundamental to living a full and satisfying life. It is important to remember that we are not alone in this journey, but that we have the guidance and love of God, as well as the help of our brothers and sisters in the faith.
Seeking company and making plans to help those who need it, we can put our trust in God into practice and follow his call.
By sharing our time and the Word of the Lord with others, both our trust and that of others will be strengthened. The empathy and understanding that arise from these encounters can calm our own concerns and those of others.
"But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicke." Luke 6:35
Learning to trust in God and others is not easy, but we can take the first step by praying, asking and reading the Word of God.
There we will find the refuge and guidance we need to reconnect with our inner self and build bridges with others.
