Thinking Carefully about the Future

Going through the different stages of life is a challenge and a goal that we must reach, sustained by the Glory of the Lord. In the following article you will find ways to get closer to future generations.

"Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

Life is a road full of stages and each of them has its own characteristics.

In this path, there are certain phases of life that cost us more than others. Moments in which we are more dispersed and confused, crossing that wonderful, but no less difficult, bridge that goes from childhood to adulthood.

Overcoming the challenges that arise in this cycle is of vital importance and one of the greatest challenges we must face.

Youth is a beautiful stage of life where we are full of strength, joy and vitality. It is also a period of great distractions and doubts.

"How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word." Psalm 119:9

However, the reality of today's teenagers and young adults is very different from the reality of those of us who already have a few gray hairs. Over-information, added to the vertiginous advance of technology, can lead young people to lose the path that God has designed for each one of them.

It is essential to get closer to our young people so as not to deepen the generation gap that can be created when we give up trying to communicate.

We must exchange perspectives in order to generate a healthy bond. We must give young people the place they deserve and avoid the mistake of thinking that we can learn nothing from them.

"For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth." Psalm 71:5

It is important to build all possible bridges for a fraternal understanding with young people. They are going through a process where doubts are at the surface.

Their questions, their effervescence and energy must be channeled and guided by the Word of the Lord. Therefore, we must let our Heavenly Father intervene in their lives with His Perfect Love, His times and His Wisdom.

Beyond the circumstances of their time, we must take care of our young people, letting them trust in Christ with their ways and generational traits.

It is important that young people can look to the future having in mind the Blessing that means to walk beside and under the Guidance of our Lord.

"It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young." Lamentations 3:27

It is an obvious task to pave the way for the new generations.

We can instill in them the Word, that they learn to enjoy reading the Bible. Let them incorporate the habit of praying in peace. The values that guided us for so long must set the course and the fundamental bases for the youth.

Many boys and girls will soon become young people and adolescents who will follow certain patterns of consumption and behavior depending on the city or place where they live and develop.

In many cases, approaching these little children of God at an early age will help us to show them a path of enlightenment, Glory and Blessings that the Heavenly Father brings to us. In this way we can give them concrete examples of how the Holy Spirit helped us in times past to form us with a much more nurtured and balanced spirit.
