Ways to celebrate Passover and Easter in isolation due to the coronavirus

This celebration invites us to share in communion with our families and loved ones. What to do now that we find ourselves in times of sanitary confinement?

Although the whole world is going through an unprecedented situation, we must find the moments and take the time to prepare a unique celebration that happens every year: treasuring and remembering the resurrection of our Savior, of his gift on the Cross that he offered to his sons and daughters.

We can think of doing something unique and special. To dedicate as never before many hours of the day to prayer, to the inner conversation that takes place between each being and our Father. We have enough time to be able to feel in a much closer way the blessing of the Lord through the Holy Spirit.

He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’” Matthew 26:18

It is in this way that in this particular year we will have to prepare ourselves in a special way to celebrate the death and resurrection of our Savior. We must appeal to the "creativity of love," as Pope Francis said this week via video conference from the Vatican. It is then that we will have to imagine a moment of family reunion in person or via digital media.
